A.P. US Government- Week 8

This week we will review and test over Civil Rights.  We will finish our lecture over Civil Rights with a discussion over workplace discrimination and rights of other groups.  Review will take place on Monday and Tuesday.  We will test on Civil Rights on Wednesday and Thursday.  Friday, we will have class discussion over your Supreme Court cases that you turned in last week and start our discussion over Interest Groups.

Economics/Government- Week 8

This week we will test over GDP and Economic Indicators on Monday.  We will also go over the Business Organizations test and begin our discussion over the Federal Reserve and International Trade.  Vocab will be given out on Monday and daily work will be given out on Wednesday.  We will also have a project over International Trade and we will go to the Media Center on Thursday and Friday to work on it.  We will also finish our project presentations and students do have a journal due on Friday.

A.P. US Government- Week 7

This week we will finish our discussion over Civil Rights.  Topics will include Brown v. Board of Education, Rosa Parks, MLK, the Civil and Women's Rights Movements, and other recent cases involvling discrimination.  Daily grades will be given out Tuesday and Wednesday and are due on Thursday or Friday and the court case profiles are due on Friday.  There will be no journals due this week and we will go over the Civil Liberties test as well.  We will finish our movie Separate, But Equal.

Economics/Government- Week 7

This week we will continue our discussion over GDP and start our discussion over Economic Indiciators.  Topics will include poverty, unemployment, inflation, and the characteristics of GDP.  We will review on review on Friday and test on Monday. Daily grades will be given out on Tuesday.  Business Organization projects are also due on Tuesday and we wills start class presentations that day as well.  We will have an optional journal week this week. Students may turn in optional journals on Friday.  Daily grades will be due on Thursday and vocab over GDP and Economic Indicators will be due on Wednesday.  We will be taking the Benchmark II test on Friday.

A.P. US Government- Week 6

We will test over Civil Liberties on Monday.  The rest of the week we wills start our discussion over Civil Rights.  Topics will include early abolistionist and women's movements, segregation, and the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's and 70's.  We will also watch Separate, But Equal, about the true story of the case that deseregated America's public schools.  Daily grades will be given out late in the week and there is no journal due this week.

Government/Economics- Week 6

This week we will finish our movie and talk about Savings and Investing.  Topics will include savings, checking, money market and retirement accounts, as well as investment opportunities such as the stock market, bonds, and futures.  We will review on Wednesday and test on Thursday.  Daily grades will be due on Tuesday and Friday.  We will also go over our Prices and Market Structures test.  There is no journal due on Friday.

A.P. US Government- Week 5

We will finish our discussion over Civil Liberties this week, with topics including the death penalty, the 2nd amendment, and the right to a fair trial.  We will review on Wednesday and Thursday and test on Friday and next Monday.  Daily grades over Due Process are due on Wednesday and there is a journal due on Friday. 

Government/Economics- 3rd Period- Week 5

This week we will finish our discussion over Market Structures.  We will review on Tuesday and test on Wednesday.  Thursday and Friday we will discuss Business Organizations.  Topics will include sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, and franchises.  Daily grades over Prices and Market Structures are due on Tuesday, vocab for Business Organizations will be given out on Wednesday, and journals are due on Friday.  We will watch the movie Tucker, about the true story of a man that tried to build a car corporation.
