Week of 9/14-18 ALL CHORUSES

All of the classes will continue working on repertoire for our Fall Concert on Oct. 6th. 

All-State Auditions are also coming up on Oct. 10th.  We will be preparing our audition pieces and continue to work on sight reading and tonal memory.

Chamber Singers will be singing the National Anthem and the Alma Mater this Friday at our first home football game.  You will need to report to the chorus room @ 6:45 to warm up and we will go to the field to perform at 7:20.  You need to wear your black oxford with nice jeans.

We will start selling tickets next Monday for our Applebee's Breakfast fund raiser.  The breakfast will be on Oct. 17th at the Applebee's on Dallas High Way, Marietta.  The cost is $7.50 and  pre-sell tickets only. You can not buy them at the door.

Week of 9/8-11: Beginning/Interm. Chorus

We will continue to work on our rep. for the Fall Concert.  We will be adding a new piece on Wednesday. 

In theory we will have a quiz on Ch. 4 Bass Clef notes this Thursday.  We will begin Ch.5 on Friday.

Our S/R will be the intro. to minor examples.

Week of 9/8-11: Chamber Singers

Don't forget that we will be having musical auditions during class on Tuesday.  If we do not finish on Tuesday we will continue into Wednesday.  When you are not audition you will be completing a worksheet on writing scales.

We will continue to work our rep. for the Fall concert.  We must also have the National Anthem and Alma Mater memorized for next weeks first home football game.  We will wear our oxfords and nice blue jeans.  If you have not paid for your oxford yet please do so ASAP.

Week of 9/8-11: Advanced Women's Chorus

This week we will have auditions for the musical during class on Tuesday. 

During class on Monday you will be watching "Oliver Twist".  This is the one act play that our school is entering into the competition.  You will watch this while Mr. Deavers and I are conducting auditions.

We will continue to work on our repertoire for our Fall Concert.  In theory you will have a GA on whole, half, and enharmonics.  We will focus more on actual S/R examples from All-State Chorus Auditions.

Week of 9/8-9/11: All Choruses

This week we will be having auditions for the spring musical "Big River" .  Chamber Singers will have their auditions during 3rd block on Tuesday and Adv. Women's will have their auditions during 1st block on Tuesday also.  All other auditions will be held after school in the chorus room on Wednesday and Thursday.

**The KISS Candles are due to be delivered this week.  As soon as we hear from the company on the day we will let you know. 

Beg./Inter. Chorus: 8/31-9/4

In theory we will have a quiz on Chapter 3 this Wednesday.  We will begin Chapter 4 on reading notes in the bass clef.  We will have a graded assignment for this chapter due on Friday.  We will continue our sight reading in our LL text book.  We will continue to focus on our repertoire and being able to hold our own parts.

Chamber Singers: 8/31-9/4

This week we will continue to work on our All-State solo.  Sight reading will be from the All-State Alto S/R text.  We will review sharps, flats, natural signs, and enharmonics in theory.  Our repertoire will include the intro. to the National Anthem and our Alma Mater.  We will be preparing these for our home football games.

Advanced Women's Chorus - 8/31-9/4

This week we will continue to work on our All-State Solos.  Our theory will be reviewing sharps, flats, naturals, and enharmonic tones.  Sight reading will be from our LL book.

Week of 8/31-9/4 - All Choruses

**Remember to bring your KISS Candle order formsand money in on Monday.  Please have one check made out to KMHS Chorus for your orders.

This Thursday a parent volunteer will be in to take measurements of those students who need to order a dress.  We will be sending the order in on Friday.

There will be an order form sent home this week for our chorus t-shirts.  They will be $15.00.  This is not mandatory but we would like to all wear them on concert days.

Do you need some extra help with your music theory, sight reading, All-State solo, or concert repertoire? Sign up for PEER TUTORING!  You will be assigned a student mentor to help you through out the semester.  You can find the sign up sheet on the Info. Table in the chorus room.

Week of August 24-28

I am very excited about this years leadership team!  Your ideas for our choral program this year have been great.  We are not scheduled to have a meeting this week, however we do need to stay after school this Thursday for Open House.  Our table needs to be set up in the cafe by 5:30. Open House is 6:00-8:00.
