Final Topic of the Week: Procrastination!

Although they usually complete all of their work, PROCRASTINATION, often a by-product of Senioritis, is prevalent among AP students. For the final blog of the semester, a blog that only procrastinators will have to complete, please explain 3 specific strategies that seniors can employ to overcome or reduce procrastination. Return later to the blog to respond to the post of at least one other student.

As always, you may participate on Typepad (precious few people) or Facebook (most people).

Because Character Sketches are due on Monday, to receive credit for this week's blog, you must post your initial comment in approximately 250-300 words AND respond to at least one other student by THE BEGINNING OF CLASS ON MONDAY.

For those of you who are thinking of interjecting humor by waiting to post until the final seconds before class starts on Monday, let me remind you of Murphy's Law:

Topic of the Week 17: What about Tiger?

 As most of you know, Tiger Woods has been embroiled in problems for the last week. Many of his fans are disappointed, and some of his sponsors must now reevaluate using Tiger as a spokesman or representative for their company. If  you were one of Tiger's sponsors, would you withdraw your money and support now or would you stick with him? Why?

For this week's blog, search the Internet for the full story of what happened to Tiger and to find the names of his supporters. Then, take the position of ONE of his supporters (companies) and tell whether or not you think the company should continue with its endorsement of Tiger. Cite reasons to support your views.

This week's topic requires you to review a new website. Play around with the website and then in 200-300 words tell what you think is good and bad about the website. Would you recommend the site? If so, for whom?

Topic of the Week 15: Let's Say Thanks

Let's Say Thanks!

Xerox sponsors a wonderful website that allows citizens to send postcards to American military personnel who are serving overseas. Individuals can select from a gallery of postcard pictures created by children (some from Georgia) and then attach a message to send to a soldier. Xerox will then print the cards and send them to soldiers. It's a quick and simple way to remember our soldiers during the holiday season.

For this week's blog, please type your own message that can be sent to several soldiers (limited to 472 characters) and post it on this blog. (Examples are available at the Xerox site.) Then, go to the site, select a card, type in your name etc. and scroll to the bottom of the available messages and click "Other." Paste your message in the provided box and then click "Send."

Please send your same message to AT LEAST 5 soldiers and please share this website with anyone you think might want to send a message of thanks to our soldiers.

For this week, you do not have to respond to the post of another student. As always, you may post your reply here or on Facebook.
