Welcome to Mr. McGriff's blog site.

This site is for students in my Public Safety Program at Kennesaw Mountain High School in Kennesaw, GA. I hope to provide class information for parents and students to help keep them up dated on activities in my classroom.

I retired from Marietta City Police Department after 21 years in police work. I worked in all areas of uniform patrol, was the sgt of the stakeout unit for 3 years, and worked in Admin handling all vehicles in the Police Departments fleet. I have a BS degree in Criminal Justice from Brenau University with Education Courses from Georgia State University.

I started teaching with Cobb County Schools in 1999. I started the Public Safety program at Pope High School, then transfered to Kennesaw Mountain High School.

All this together adds up to some interesting classes.

We have established with the City of Kennesaw Police Department a Law Enforcement  Explorer Post. We have established an application process for students who disire membership. It is co-sponsored by Kennesaw Mountain High School and the City of Kennesaw Police Department.
