Wednesday - Students took completed an activity on the cell cycle and took notes on cancer.  A reminder to students - bring your textbooks to class tomorrow (Thursday).

Thursday - Students read and took notes on pages 270-276.  Afterward they completed the Section 10.1 Assessment questions #1-7 on page 276 and a handout on mitosis/meiosis.  Their Unit 4 test will be next Wednesday.

Students finished watching GATTACA today.  For homework, students need to complete DNA and RNA concept maps.  Their Unit 3 quiz is on Monday.

Students took a benchmark test in biology.  They discussed and completed activities on protein synthesis. We started watching GATTACA today and we will finish watching the movie tomorrow.

Students read and article and completed Q&A on stem cells.  Students also took notes and completed activities on protein synthesis.  Students will have their Unit 3 quiz on Monday.  ***To check student understanding of DNA replication, students are to answer the following question and add it to their paragraph they wrote on DNA replication.  Write the question in addition to the answer.  "Where and why are Okazaki fragments made?"

Magnet Biology

Students participated in a debate on stem cell research.  For homework, students need to complete the assignment given yesterday on explaining in writing the process of DNA replication using all of their DNA vocabulary.  They will have a unit quiz on Monday.  A reminder students need to return their movie permission slip if they have not done so.

Magnet Biology

Students worked collaboratively discussing topics for their debate on stem cell research.  They will need to research further this evening and be prepared to debate their topic tomorrow.  Students should also review their DNA vocabulary and in writing, explain the process of DNA replication.  They should use the pictures on the back of their notes to help them with their understanding of the process.  Their writings on DNA replication are due on Wednesday.
