Here is an excellent resource for finding books: Novelist.

Use it to get an idea of what the books on your chart are about and which ones you would like to read.

We didn't get as much done as I expected this week.

Here is the homework for the weekend:

1. Study for Unit 1 Vocab Quiz (spelling, definitions, synonyms, antonyms, completing the sentence)

2. Finish reading "The Most Dangerous Game" & do the study guide questions.

3. Finish the summer reading assignment (due Tuesday Jan. 24)

Mon: MLK Holiday

Tue: (Character Ed Schedule) Writing: Continue Laws of Life Essay. Vocabulary: Intro to Unit 1.

Homework: Work on Laws of Life essay & begin studying Unit 1 vocab words.

Wed: Writing: Finish Laws of Life Essay (& submit to turnitin.com). Vocabulary: Unit 1 Powerpoint & Exercises. Literature: Discuss “The White Circle.” Read “The Plot Thins.”

Homework: Finish “The Plot Thins” & do the study guide questions. Review Unit 1 words.

Thu: Literature: Discuss “The Plot Thins.” Begin “The Most Dangerous Game.”

Homework: Finish “The Most Dangerous Game” & do the study guide questions.

Fri: Literature: Discuss “The Most Dangerous Game.” Vocab: Unit 1 Review.

Homework: Study for Unit 1 Vocab Quiz. Work on Summer Reading Assignment (due Tuesday Jan. 24). I've added some study resources on the Vocabulary Page. Check them out!

Today we will be taking a pretest using USA Test Prep.

Click on the new user button.

The School ID and activation code are written on the board.

Then fill in your personal information to create an account (Don't forget to click agree for the user agreement).

Then take the Benchmark test.
