Today in class we finished binomial and geometric distributions. You were given practice problems to work on today and tomorrow in class. The multiple choice is on the blog. Your homework tonight is to read Chapters 6.3 on pages 397-402. Complete exercises on pages 405-406 #’s 93, 95, 97, 99, 101-103

Today in class you took a quiz over factoring and the rational zero theorem. Your homework tonight is to complete the factoring worksheet given out in class. For the first four problems, you will need to set the given root and it's conjugate equal to x. Then write the roots as factors. Multiply the two factors together and you will get a divisor polynomial for your long division. After the long division, you will find you have something familiar! Have fun.

After a nice visit with Mr. Kienel, and an update on MLA formatting, we began our unit on Random Variables. Your homework tonight is to read pages 338-346. Complete exercises on pages 353-354 #'s 1, 5, 7, 9 and 13.

Today in class you learned how to use the rational zero theorem to find possible rational zeros of a polynomial. You also learned about multiplicity and how it affects the graph of a polynomial at it roots. Your homework tonight is to read pages 116-118. Complete exercises on pages 120-121 #'s 15, 17, 19, 23, 25, 27 and 28. Also complete exercises on pages 121-122 #'s 29-35 All.

Today in class we began our unit on Polynomials. We learned how to factor using sum/difference of cubes and how to recognize and factor quadratic form. Your homework is to read pages 106-108. Complete exercises on pages 109-111 #'s 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 33, 35, 37, 41, 43 and 53.

**AP Statistics**

Today in class we practiced conditional probability by determining if a known terrorist is given a lie detector test, what is the probability that the test will identify that he is a terrorist. We began reviewing simulation problems for the test by simulating drivers who are distracted by cell phones and other drivers to see what the probability is that a driver would be more distracted with a cell phone.

Your homework is to read pages 321-328. Complete exercises on pages 330-333 #'s 83, 85, 87, 91, 93, 95, 97 and 99.

Today in class we learned how to create tree diagrams to answer conditional probability problems. We also used the general multiplication rule to solve conditional probability problems. Finally we determined if two events were independent using the general multiplication rule. Your homework is to read pages 312-320. Complete exercises on pages 311 and 329-330 #'s 57-60, 63, 65, 67, 69, 73, 77, and 79.

Today in class we reviewed for our test tomorrow. Here are the solutions for the review packet. For #37, it asks to find the inverse function. I switched d and c and solved for c. Some of you in class were a little confused by this. You don't have to switch the variables to find the inverse function in a word problem. If you do, please use the inverse notation. For all other inverse problems (not word problems) you must switch x and y, before you solve for y.

**AP Statistics**

Today in class we finished our notes for the probability Chapter. We will spend the next few days practicing finding theoretical and experimental probabilities.

Your homework for tonight is to read pages 303-308 and complete exercises on pages 297-298 and 310-311 #'s 29, 33-36, 49, 51, 53 and 55.
