After a quick review we took our Unit 7 test on logarithms today. We then started working on a unit review assignment for Unit 1. We will begin preparing for next Thursday's final exam tomorrow.

Today we reviewed Unit 3 to prepare for our last unit test for the semester. Here's a quick summary of how we organized this unit. Each problem eventually leads to three main possibilities:

- Looking for a side?
- Don't have an angle measure -> Pythagorean Theorem
- Have an angle measure -> Trig Ratios

- Looking for an angle?
- Trig Ratios -> inverse sin/cos/tan

Here are two problems we practiced yesterday and today that will be on the test: Download Area and Perimeter Trig Warm-up

After tomorrow's test we will begin to prepare for our final exam next week.

Today we reviewed Angle of Elevation and Angle of Depression (angle off the horizontal) problems and then worked with multiple step problems. Then we explored how to use trig ratios (or special triangle properties) to solve problems with the area of squares (given a diagonal) and equilateral triangles (given the perimeter). Tomorrow we will review Unit 3 to prepare for Thursday's test.

We spent today looking at applications of trigonometric ratios - specifically, angle of elevation and angle of depression. We practiced with a variety of problems on the whiteboards and also in our groups on paper.

I was not here first block today due to a doctor's appointment so I left logarithm practice problems:

- Exponential Equations Maze
- Calculating Logs Maze
- Expanding & Condensing Logs MATH LIB
- Logarithmic Equations

I also had the substitute teacher return Unit 7 quizzes and collect completed corrections.

Tomorrow we will complete this unit with a look at applications of logarithms.

Today we reviewed and then took a quiz on right triangles:

- Pythagorean Theorem
- Trig Ratios and Inverses

Monday we will explore applications for trig ratios and inverses, solving problems with angles of elevation/depression. We will also practice other types of problems we may see on our unit test or on the EOC.
