Born in Taiwan, my passion for art was recognized at an early age when my drawings of Japanese Anime and Manga caught the attention of my teachers. In 1983, my family relocated to the United States where I completed middle and high school. I continued my studies at the University of Georgia where I received Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing with a minor in Art Education. I went on to earn my Masters in Art Education at Florida International University. As part of my Master’s program, I attended the University of Swansea in England, where I studied Stained Glass.
I have taught elementary, middle and high school students for ten years. This is my twelfth year in teaching and 3rd year at KMH. I have also taught private classes at various art museums and centers for the arts. I specialize in portraits and figure studies. Although, I am trained and excels in all media, I prefer working with pastels and acrylics.
I have been a freelance artist since 1993 specializing in a mix of Expressionist and Classical styles. As owner of Happy Medium Creative Studio, I taught classes and summer camps to children and adults of all ages, and various levels of artistic skill.
